kampoengku.com- In an effort to enhance the skills of Human Resources (HR), particularly those in their operational area, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (PT Vale) Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) Pomalaa organized training for the operation of heavy equipment for local talents.
The training took place at the Pomalaa District Office Hall, Kolaka Regency, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. A total of 45 local talents from Kolaka Regency participated in the training, which lasted for six weeks. Five weeks were dedicated to theory, while the remaining week was used for practical training at the IGP Pomalaa ground training area.
During the training, participants were provided with theoretical knowledge about the operation of heavy equipment, especially excavators and dump trucks. They were not only taught the theory of operating heavy machinery but also received essential information regarding Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), in line with PT Vale's commitment to prioritizing safety as a top priority.
Mohammad Rifai, the Project Director of PT Vale Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) Pomalaa, expressed his hope that the participants would acquire a high level of skill in operating heavy equipment and a detailed understanding of the importance of safety in their activities.
"We certainly hope that the training received will enhance the skills of the participants, especially since the material provided is in high demand in the workplace, such as in the mining sector. We expect that they can be absorbed not only into PT Vale's projects but also into other companies," he said.
He also mentioned that the company provided an opportunity for women to improve their skills by enrolling 22 female candidates as equipment operators.
